Hello hello everybody! It is time for another months progress, and I am so excited to share with you, all the things I have gotten my grimy little gremlin hands on. First off, what we are all here for; writing. I have been on fire, to be honest! Last month I churned through the last of the first batch of erotica stories (there's 6 (!!!) of them on my patreon already) and set them up for publishing along with two more unseen ones- I'm still going over the logistics of where to publish for the best revenue (I know this sounds boring, but I have to make an income somehow, and hopefully find another audience as a smut writer on other platforms 💀 I love writing it so why not!), and I am making headway, learning the ins and outs of self publishing. On patreon, there are also two Q&A's that are written in a bit more fictional manner, in character: a more fun way than just writing answers straight up and down. I have enjoyed those so much! There's a bunch of other stuff I haven't even mentioned- honestly, I have to say, I'm really proud of my output on Patreon even though I have been really anxious about writing full time. It's going great! I have to thank my new friends and support-network on discord; you make this all worth it. I cannot express how fun it is to shoot the shit with you in vc, gaming together, or seeing your shenanigans in gen or your in depth theories (thanks for the brainworms!) or memes or staring longingly at the fanfic channel or drooling over your art (ouro related or not) or... When it comes to OUROBOROS, I am happy to announce that the next chapter is damn near done! I was halted because of the discovery that dashingdon is no longer supported by it's creator, and have been working on the twine version ever since, earlier than I expected- it's tough work, but I am so excited to make this an actual game made entirely by myself, and not submitting to a company that quite frankly leaves a bitter aftertaste. It is taking long to make because I want to make it mobile compatible from the start, which there isn't a lot of resources for. But I'm doing my best! The plan is that I will be posting the next chapter for Patreons in the coming month, and then treat you to a full twine release here on tumblr. I haven't made any rewrites when porting the twine build, but I would like to do that too... so we will see; this plan is not set in stone. I will just have to see how it evolves over the next month. Yes, beta-readers is still on the schedule, just holding off a little while while I wrap my head around this new coding landscape.

Other than that, I have been working on the set aesthetic for ouro, which has been really hard, a lot harder than I expected. You all know I am no wizard when it comes to graphic design, but I want to at least develop a set palette and imagery and portraits that is cohesive to the story. The work is ongoing, and I don't have much to say about it- even though it is taking a lot of my brain power. I'm hoping I can come to some kind of set and in depth conclusion that I am happy with before the twine release, because I want the game to feel like a treat to open up and play; a world to get lost in.

Crayon: What was your OC like when they were four years old? Were they loud? Shy? Were they the resident "weird kid" or did they get along with others their age?

Unfortunately Nik’s birth parents died in a *ahem* murder-suicide when he was 4. It just so happened that Admiral Aldana and his wife were struggling to conceive a second child, so they took him in.

Nik didn’t quite understand where his parents had gone, as he was in school during the tragic event. What he did understand was that he had a new best friend that he could live with, and that was enough.

He and Drav were inseparable from the moment they met, always finding ways to make mischief for their parents and their household staff. Their favorite pastime was visiting the observation deck with their nanny to come up with funny names and silly stories for every star they could point out.

With Nik’s parents being working class, he was often picked on at school for having torn, dirty clothing and laughed at for the way he scarfed down the tasteless rations offered to the students. While he was 4 and unaware of exactly who he used to be—and why he was constantly teased—he knew it was Drav that made all of that disappear.

Well, I thought I was gonna maybe have a straight line of swtor editions for this one, but I think Tyr's actually makes better sense for his xiv rendition.

[ ⛓️ ]ㅤ.ㅤ what does guilt feel like to them ?

In a few words? Tyr too often comes to wear his guilt like shame.

Sometimes it falls upon him like the blinding morning sun, making him duck his head and cover his eyes for want of relief. It's something almost heavy, but indescribable in his chest. It turns to lead in his veins, weighing down his limbs, making each step feel heavier and harder than the last.

He can't always place it. Much of what chases him into guilt are things he knows are, by logic, beyond his control. They're things he would not hold against another - one can hardly control where they're born, after all. But plenty of them are scabs he's had picked at by others all the same.

It drives him into himself. Against the demands of duty, he can't let any of that shake him, right? He can't give attention to the way the mortar crumbles under the weight, how cracks are setting in to the wall of resolve. If it's not their fault.., is it his? If not directly, then for showing weakness long enough for them to doubt?

A lot of this really digs its claws in during Stormblood, and a lot of it is Tyr trying to grapple with the bloody legacy of Garlemald - inescapably his, and also... not. He's marked as one of theirs, but what remained of his kin and elders of Lapis Manalis fled the northern cold while he was so young he has the barest memories of the caverns in which they would have one day trained him.

So, when every time he turns around, an introduction requires a thorough explanation, and no log of historic exemplary deeds will suffice for the here and now..? Was it enough? Is it enough? Will it ever be enough? Does he even have a right to care if it will be?

What that cost him in the long-run is added stress and strain on him and the ones he loves that do want to stand beside him - people like Astor and Yroh'a (@dawntread) that aren't asking him to bear that weight alone, and are fighting against the idea sinking in like venom to Tyr's veins that he knows it shouldn't hurt like this, there's an explanation for these things, so he'll tuck it back behind his teeth until he can swallow the bile and the feeling, because no one else deserves to bear that rotting feeling. So he tells himself, at least.

And ultimately? It clouds his judgement on the First. It makes him reach beyond his means in an attempt to lesson the load on his fellow Scions and adventuring companions, and instead he ends up probably in more trouble than he was already with the lot of them, given the state of the world. That's what drives him to attempt to call on his very limited training in the ancestral arts of the Reapers, and instead get himself saddled with a sineater companion he tries to make the most of in the hunt for the Lightwardens in Shadowbringers. Ultimately, what all that Light corruption compounded costs him is sight in his right eye.

And some would say this is why we need to talk about our feelings. /lh. Thankfully for Tyr, Yroh'a and Astor are about as stubborn as him, and can stick with him through the long process of learning the hard way about keeping too much knotted up in his chest, and he can finally start on working some of that out in their later adventures on the other side of their challenges on the First.

[ 🍻 ]ㅤ.ㅤ what kind of drunk are they ?

Admittedly, drinking isn't Alucren's vice of choice - and a lot of how she is while drunk is largely dependent on her reason for drinking.

As a general indulgence, it's something she's more likely to do socially; it was a common staple of the galas and parties her family used to often host or attend in years past on Dromund Kaas. A glass or two or three can be nursed easily while gossiping away the hours with the Empire's elite. It loosened even his tongue a little, though I'm sure it would surprise none to say that it just made her more prideful and showboaty about things.

And even at her lowest in the five years Taizi (@shadowsofdread) is missing in carbonite in timelines where we put Taizi up for commander, I'd say Alucren's preferred vice for numbing the grief of existence was more smoking than drinking, though he certainly performed plenty more of both than would be considered his normal. That and primarily sex, admittedly - with anybody that had a passing interest, and with very little of her usual strong boundaries. Several drinks, a few lazy cigarettes, and an unfamiliar partner that could easily be said to look ready to devour him were all easier things to pass the miserable rains and hollowed existence than staring into the mirror with knuckles white around the refresher sink and eyes aching from... Well.

The point was to not think about it. And certainly not to talk about it. On his slightly better days, enough of himself was present to complain when he could've been drinking some desert piss for all the good it tasted - though while such was more than enough to stop her or at least make her change her choice of beverage at her "best," before loss took over, such things never stopped her during those five years.

Understandably then, it's... not a vice she often indulges in after. It's wrapped up in memories she'd much rather forget - both for the haunting pain in his chest, and for the... amount of himself he gave up in longing to escape the worst of his feelings. She's really not keen to experience any part of that again.

Smoking on the other hand? Well, those were substances she was usually in a much better, comparatively at least, state of mind about consuming. That's something she mostly thought she did for herself, for fun - most of the times, at least. Though I think even that he tends to indulge in less afterward. Stepping into the Alliance and beyond with Taizi back at her side was an awakening in more ways than one, and it wasn't always a pretty one. A lot of days it looked like the galaxy's worst hangovers got together and threw a party, and then had their own hangover from that. She owes Taizi better than that.

And more importantly? She slowly begins to learn - and let sink in - that she owes herself better than that. And that's a life she'd like to be properly present for.

[ 🧨 ]ㅤ.ㅤ what’s the quickest way to set them off, even if they hide it well ?

Hrrrmmmm. Would you believe this was the one that gave me the most trouble? xD Not necessarily because there aren't a few times I could think of, but... synthesizing the inciting incident and... also trying to figure how that's consistent across the few versions of him that exist.

As a short rundown for those at home not in our dms /lh, Enok has a version in FFXIV (pictured above), is my Mourn Watcher in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and also has a SWTOR edition running around in our heads way more than I've posted about alkdnf;ladsfn.

In general terms, he's an old soldier, and has a rather limiting tendency to take on blame that isn't necessarily his alone to bear. But bear it he will, because despite his attempts to appear otherwise, he unfortunately can't stop giving a shit about the younger people around him that still have nice things in-tact like their hopes and dreams and ideals.

And it's not that he's dispassionate about any of these things himself. He's just found himself often enough on the end of getting corralled into acceptance and keeping his head down and falling in line. And he figures he can take that, if the world keeps spinning 'round like it ought to.

For that acceptance, he doesn't look to have an outright problem with authority. But authority has often left him out in the cold, so to speak, and he's had to make do with himself and whatever luck the universe deigned to spare at the moment. He'll even take having a bad reputation for it, if that's what helps people sleep at night.

But his temper gets shorter when that same authority tries to pin blame for shit he's taken on himself. Because he's done that shitty song and dance and let it beat a good amount of defiance out of him, and sometimes, that's enough to light a fire in him again that says he'll be damned if he's gonna just stand by quietly and watch it happen to someone else.

My best example of this is probably from his SWTOR timeline; Enok there serves as part of recon forces in the early attempts to resettle Taris. Him and the several units he leads in the course of those efforts were some of the earliest boots on the ground, before proper bases and safe zones were even established.

And, unfortunately, Enok is a man who had a talent for surviving, despite the doomed odds and hells of that planet. He's burned and buried more young soldiers than he'd like to keep count of at this point. And that kind of cost for 'success' both wears on a man, and comes with a pretty twisted reputation.

A few times it's been enough for him to try telling Command and their esteemed governor exactly what he thought of her "victory for Republic morale." That it was getting a lot of good young men killed and little else, was what.

It did not, however, expedite his retirement. Instead, the ultimatum was fall in line, do the job, or have what little power he had in directly running with units stripped to be left sitting in quarantine. And possibly official repercussions for that "attitude." The discussion got... heated. And involved raised voices. Enok's not... entirely above throwing a fist about poor authority, even if his 'better judgement' has saved him from letting it fly... most times.

No good choices, by his count, but there was only really one feasible one left out of that. So, he took his discontentment and ground out an understanding through his clenched teeth and got on with it. Even though it forced him to put bolts through a few more of his own men.

He never will manage to forget how the stories about his reputation change in the last moments - where it's a choice between the twisted certainty of rakghouls or a quick certainty at the end of a blaster. That should be enough to outrage anyone with even a bit of a heart left. For better or worse, it'd seem Enok managed to survive with that in-tact enough, too.

Hey, random thought I had, but what do you think of Thorn/Fury or Fury/Den?

Seeing as Fury is my favorite princess, Den is my second favorite princess, and Thorn is in my top five princesses, I do really want to like them as ship dynamics 😳

There's other pairings I prefer for these princesses, though-I'm actually partial to Thorn/Den! I'm in love with the mental image of Thorn on Den's back, bloody hands in Den's hair...tending to each other's wounds...both of these princesses are so in-tune with nature, it's easy to see them living that disney princess life in their own cabin in the woods, mostly separate from the rest of the world. Thorn's a princess I see putting flowers in other princess' hair, and the Den with the flower crown/poppies in her hair...it's so cute to think about. it's so so cute i think they'd also be very compatible with one another on a less-than-sfw level lol

Fury, meanwhile, is a princess who, despite being a giant demigoddess of self-mutilation, is past the point of caring about the things that title would imply in the majority of her endings. She's desperately searching for something, a spark that was lost, beauty and grace she feels was taken from her...and in her leave ending, she just seems so lost...like, this is someone I'm picturing as happiest when she's given the simplest of gestures, small but consistent things that prove the person(s) she's with love her, amateur poetry, picnics with wine, dining under the stars, backrubs, hair brushing, showering together...how you get an eleven foot tall woman in the shower and how she doesn't slip in her bone-heels and own leaking blood being a new discussion entirely

Maybe I'm completely fucking wrong, lol, I admit to looking at Fury with rose-tinted (red tinted? gore tinted???) glasses, but she seems like she'd latch on to someone easily if they gave her genuine affection. I don't Den or Thorn are incapable of providing this to her, nor do I think they can't match her freak re: "i need to unwind the both of our bodies and merge them together." but Den definitely appeals mostly to the latter while Thorn's trust issues would prevent her from doing anything more than the former.

why i feel like Thorn would be cool with Den devouring her and not Fury's thing? vibes, mostly. pure vibes.

That being said, Den IS the kind of princess who likes food. Like. Really likes food. Obviously she's fucking starving and desperate to get the birdman inside her for more reasons than one, so the version of Den we see is someone who is at her limit and thus probably doesn't behave that way in a scenario where she's actually well-fed...but I don't think you can be a "ravenous" heart without being into eating for the joy of eating. Which is also to say that, in a world where the Princesses can exist outside of the construct + together, I think Den's the kind of girl who would catch her own food, forage for ingredients, stop by the nearest town/piece of civilization for things she can't get on her own, and cook it herself. There's youtube channels of people who like, seem to mostly live in the wilderness and cook their food out there-I can see her doing that. Complete silence. Just masterfully catching, gutting, seasoning, and cooking a fish all in the same river. I can see her being really into cooking. I can see her making homemade meals for her girlfriends. I see both Thorn and Fury as being princesses who really, really appreciate that. I can see Den taking a lot of pride in filling her partner's stomachs. with kittens as well as-

Okay idea for the Dragon AU--

WHAT IF Diavolo is the king and Barbatos is his servant and Diavolo is secretley half-dragon on Sonnos side? And him trying to make peace with dragons is so he can reveal to his people that he's half-dragon and show they aren't bad

But at the point of the AU, people still hate them hence IK stumbling upon Mammon deep in the woods after being accused of being a witch

The reason I thought of this is because I think an AWESOME concept would be if Barbatos was a dragon that learned how to take on a human disguise and act like a human

But as a dragon he's like oroboros!!!! He's watched the rise and fall of both dragon and human kind over and over and over, essentially watching the world eat its own tail and unfortunately he's as much of a slave to it as everyone else, it's just that he's one of the only ones who realizes and actively remembers ALL of it

And he's hoping that Diavolo (with the power of this strange little human) might be able to break this cycle

Just an idea but my brain is firing at 100% right now

okok so imagine that diavolo's been (subtly) trying to make contact with the full-blood dragons, but barbatos knows this never works out - no matter how promising things start out, something always ends up going wrong, because there is a fundamental mistrust between both humans and dragons

so there's always a miscommunication that makes either side think they've been betrayed, or one side will be too tense and convinced they'll be attacked, so prematurely attack the dragons in retaliation; it always ends in either a mass-hunting of dragonkind, or destruction of the kingdom

but then this cycle is the first time ik shows up, and this important because ik explicitly trusts that her friends will NOT do anything to hurt her on purpose - the kind of unwavering faith that diavolo wants to establish between humans and dragons

of course, there's a bit of an obstacle in that ik is also mistrusted at this point - "of course the witch child would ally with those wicked dragons!" - i imagine there'd be moments where public opinion begins to change, e.g. when ik along with one of the brothers helps save a merchant being robbed by bandits

maybe they get on diavolo's radar for the first time because one of the nobles in his court (om mephistopheles perhaps) gets attacked by monsters while technically invading the dragons' territory, but the brothers save and then return him back to safety. to diavolo this is a MIRACLE, and he MUST meet this witch-child who's prompted the dragons to show compassion to humans immediately

(to put an ironic twist on this, maybe the reason ik's never appeared before now is because barbatos's attempts to set things on the right track in previous cycles always butterly-effected into her being killed prematurely; she only survives in this one because barbatos is standing back in the hope that diavolo would be able to break the cycle)

(he only figures this out upon going back over his memories from past cycles - since at the time the deaths were just part of the (what he thought was) inevitable collateral damage of his efforts)
